Xinhua, Beijing, May 25 — The Fifth National Conference on the Work of People's Tribunals was held in Beijing on the 25th. Member of the Political Bureau of the CCP Central Committee and Secretary of the Central Political-Legal Affairs Commission Chen Wenqing attended and delivered a speech. He emphasized that people's courts at all levels must thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law, deeply grasp the decisive significance of the "Two Establishes" (两个确立), resolutely achieve the "Two Safeguards" (两个维护), give full play to the political advantage of the Party's leadership, at every moment and in every place attend to facilitating the people's litigation and reducing their litigation burdens, and through concrete actions implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instruction to "strive to let the people feel fairness and justice in every judicial case."

Chen Wenqing noted that strengthening the work of people's tribunals in the new era is a practical need for resolving conflicts and disputes, safeguarding fairness and justice, serving urban-rural development, and ensuring social tranquility. The courts must place even greater emphasis on adhering to the people-centered approach, and practice the Party's mass line for the new era through down-to-earth and warm-hearted judicial methods; place even greater emphasis on letting the people feel fairness and justice, and uphold fair adjudication and strict enforcement, so that cases are closed, matters resolved, and parties at peace; place even greater emphasis on giving play to the foundational role of mediation, uphold and develop the "Fengqiao Experience" (枫桥经验) of the new era, and be skilled at using mediation methods to resolve conflicts and disputes; place even greater emphasis on serving the broader picture of the economy and society, and fully discharge their duties and dare to take responsibility in preventing risks, safeguarding rights and interests, and serving development; place even greater emphasis on carrying forward the spirit of socialist rule of law, and guide the masses to handle matters in accordance with law, turn to law when problems arise, use law to resolve issues, and rely on law to defuse conflicts; and place even greater emphasis on enabling the empowerment of science and technology, using digital and intelligent technologies to drive the high-quality development of people's tribunals.

陈文清指出，加强新时代人民法庭工作，是化解矛盾纠纷、维护公平正义、服务城乡发展、保障社会安宁的现实需要。要更加注重坚持以人民为中心，以接地气、有温度的司法方式践行新时代党的群众路线；更加注重让人民群众感受到公平正义，坚持公正判决、严格执行，实现案结事了人和；更加注重发挥调解的基础性作用，坚持和发展新时代“枫桥经验”，善于运用调解方式化解矛盾纠纷；更加注重服务经济社会全局，在防范风险、维护权益、服务发展上全面履职、勇于担当；更加注重弘扬社会主义法治精神，引导群众办事依法、遇事找法、解决问题用法、化解矛盾靠法；更加注重科技赋能，以数智技术赋能人民法庭高质量发展。
